Meet Professor Steven Marwaha
Steven is a Consultant Psychiatrist working in the NHS in Birmingham and Solihull and a Professor of Psychiatry at a Birmingham University. He has been a Consultant Psychiatrist for over 15 years and worked in many areas of the country and in different areas of Psychiatry, including those specialising in general adult psychiatry, mood disorders (e.g depression, anxiety, PTSD and bipolar disorder) and personality disorders and psychosis services. His research interest is in the development and treatment of mood disorders.
He studied Medicine at the University of Cambridge and then University College London Medical School before qualifying as a doctor in 1996. He trained in Psychiatry in North London, and after a period of working around England and also Germany (for the British army) he took up substantive academic and NHS Consultant positions in 2009 in the Midlands.
